Overview
Energy (also called lives) is required to play puzzle levels in Buruburu Do-butsu. Each puzzle attempt costs one energy. When you run out of energy, you need to wait for it to regenerate or use other methods to get more.
How energy works
Maximum energy: You can hold up to 5 energy at a time under normal conditions.
Cost per level: Starting a puzzle level costs 1 energy.
Win refund: When you complete a puzzle level successfully, your energy is refunded — so winning a level effectively costs no energy.
At zero energy: You cannot start a new puzzle level until you have at least 1 energy.
Regeneration
Energy regenerates automatically over time. You gain 1 energy every 30 minutes, up to the maximum of 5. The timer runs continuously — you do not need to be in the game for energy to regenerate.
Other ways to get energy
Friend gifts: Friends can send you energy as a gift. Each gift gives 1 energy.
Team energy: You can request energy from your team members, or team members can send energy to you directly.
Gems exchange: You can exchange gems for energy in the shop.
Friend invites: Successfully inviting a friend to play can reward you with energy.
Level rewards: Some puzzle levels award bonus energy as a completion reward.
Shop bundles: Some in-app purchase bundles include energy or temporary unlimited energy.
Unlimited energy
Certain events, rewards, or purchases can grant temporary unlimited energy for a limited time. While unlimited energy is active, starting puzzle levels costs no energy. Unlimited energy expires automatically when the timer runs out.
Champion’s League energy
The Champion’s League has its own separate energy pool that is independent from your regular puzzle energy. Using energy in the Champion’s League does not affect your regular energy, and vice versa.
If energy is not appearing
Energy regenerates in the background even when you are not playing. If your energy count looks wrong after returning to the game, try closing and reopening the app to allow it to sync. If the issue persists, please contact us with a screenshot showing your current energy and the time (JST).
