Earning and Spending Cash, Silver & Gold

Room Design uses three main in-game currencies: Cash, Silver, and Gold. This article explains what each currency is for, how you can earn them, and common ways you’ll spend them while designing.

What the currencies are used for

  • Cash — Used to buy extra uses of starter materials.

  • Silver — Used to buy additional uses of premium materials after any free premium uses are consumed.

  • Gold — Used to unlock premium materials; unlocking typically grants a small number of free uses of that premium material.

In short: Gold unlocks premium materials (and gives free uses), Silver buys extra premium uses, and Cash buys extra starter uses.

How to earn each currency

You can earn Cash, Silver and Gold from several in-game activities:

  • Completing Projects (submitting rooms) — Submitting a finished room gives a cash reward. The first project you complete each day gives 3,000 Cash; subsequent project submissions that same day give 1,000 Cash each.

  • Winning Duels — Winning a head-to-head duel against a friend in the Friends section awards 20 Silver.

  • Voting — Voting in the community voting interface grants small rewards (such as Cash or items). There is a daily limit to how many voting rewards you can earn; once you reach that limit, further voting won’t give rewards until the next day.

  • Daily Assignments & Missions — Daily tasks and missions can award Cash, Silver, or Gold depending on the mission.

  • Daily Login / Event Rewards & Contests — Logging in each day and participating in special events or contests can grant currency.

  • Social & Sharing Bonuses — Occasionally sharing or interacting with shared rooms can grant materials or small rewards.

Where you’ll typically spend them

  • Unlocking premium materials — Spend Gold to unlock a premium material, which typically includes a few free uses.

  • Buying material uses — Spend Silver to purchase extra premium material uses; spend Cash to purchase extra starter material uses.

  • Special content & bundles — Some limited-time offers or event entries may require or consume these currencies.

Quick reminders and limits

  • First-project cash bonus: The first completed project each day pays 3,000 Cash; repeat projects pay 1,000 Cash.

  • Voting rewards reset daily: Voting rewards are limited per day and reset each day. If you hit the limit, you’ll be able to earn voting rewards again after the daily reset.
